When stocks are traded they represent pieces of ownership of corporations that are changing hands. There are also derivative financial instruments traded which are based on stocks, such as indexes. Corporations issue stock to raise capital for their businesses and then the stock shares are traded just like commodities are. The location where stocks are traded is called a stock exchange, and can be real or virtual.

One of the greatest drawbacks of stock market trading, whether online or not, is its lower leverage compared to other forms of trading like Forex trading. Also, you cannot easily short sell stocks as it takes time for stock prices to go up. This means that increasing your profit may also take time.

Stock market trading is the voluntary selling/buying/exchange of company stocks and derivatives. Stock market traders range from small retail investors to the big institutional investors. Corporations use stocks to grow their businesses. Just about everything can be done easily online by the option trading strategy with the popularity of option tutorial and the Internet. Stock trading can be done virtually. Some advantages include: easier ways in selecting investments, finding stocks, and checking trading activities. The biggest disadvantage of stock trading is its minimal leverage in contrast to different kinds of trading. Time is required in order for stocks to increase in value.
